I decided to make some christmas mint cookies for DJ today using a recipe from Paula-http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/hidden-mint-cookies-recipe/index.html
Instead of decorating with walnuts or pecans I just chose to use sprinkles to make it more festive. I also used Andi's mints instead of wafers.
Instead of buying the premade dough for the cookies I decided to make sugar cookies from scratch using this recipe-

I have to warn all of you who love the sweet sugary cookies that these do not come out very sweet and are a little buttery. After eating one or two you will be full. I think next time I will use my usual sugar cookie recipe instead. It was good with the mint inside though, I just prefer cookies that are more sweet. I think the mint candy saved this combination of recipes but I'm still disappointed in Alton's baking skills. Oh well...I learned a lesson I guess lol stick with what I know works.
