July Favorites (a little late)

Hey everyone!

Sorry I am a little late on this but I wanted to show you some of the products I have been loving this past month.

1. Benefit's Gimme Brow in medium/deep - I absolutely love this eye brow gel. I had been on the fence about getting it for a while but I am glad I finally did. I use every day now. It creates the perfect natural brow, it lasts a long time and it's easy to use. I also like how you can build it up if you want to.

2. IT Cosmetics bye bye under eye corrector concealer in "light"- This product was quoted on ulta's website to "camouflage any under eye discolorations and provide anti-aging, hydrating and soothing benefits." I absolutely love this product, I have used it every day since I got it. Especially since I have not been getting as much sleep lately, this concealer has become part of my daily routine.

3. Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer in "natural"  - I'm sure you have all seen this product on many of my face of the day posts. For summer I have been using this for my foundation. It is light weight, gives a more natural look, and blends nicely. I also love how it provides an SPF of 20 too!

4. Mac's paint pot in painterly - Yet again another product I have used everyday since I got it. This is the perfect eye primer and base color for your eye makeup

5. Shiseido Refining Moisturizer- I originally got this as a sample from Sephora and ended up falling in love with it. I put this on everyday before my foundation. It is pricey but it is worth it. A lot of the other moisturizers I have tried are not as smooth and soft as this one. You don't have to use a lot either so I think it will last a while. It really does feel like my face is hydrated all day long. Love it!

6. Tarte's  the Sculptor- This product took a little getting use to but I am so glad I got it. It shows you on the packaging exactly where to place it to contour your face just right, so its pretty easy to apply. I just had to get use to not using a powder form for contouring. I think this is easy/quick and provides a natural contour. It's not hard to blend either but you can build it up if you want to.

7. Gerard Cosmetics lip gloss in "butter cream" - These lip glosses are amazing. I love this color the most I think out of the three that I have. It is the perfect nude pink and it's not too sticky on the lips.

8. Bite Beauty agave lip mask - I got this in hopes that it would help with my lips drying up everyday. Let me tell you this product has done just that. I love this mask. I put it on right before I go to bed and it helps keep my lips moisturized throughout the following day. I have definitely noticed the difference when I forget to use it at night.

9. Bite Beauty lipsticks in violet and granache: These lipsticks are the best lipsticks I have ever used, hands down. They last pretty long, they are made from amazing ingredients, and they feel really good on the lips. And just look at these wonderful colors! Love!

10. Lorac Pro 2 Palette

         - I cannot believe this is my first Lorac palette. This palette is amazing. You can do colorful looks or neutral looks... the eye shadows apply nicely... the colors are really pigmented...I think I have said it before but this palette gives the naked palettes a run for their money. I love it so much I can't wait to try the original palette.

Jamberry Nails First Impression/ Review

Hi everyone!

A friend of mine sent me these lovely Jamberry nail samples in the mail today. I have always heard about them from others but never actually tried them out myself. I'm not sure if many of you know, but nails have always been a weak spot for me. Doing my nails has just always seemed like a chore and I never got too excited about it. Regular nail polish usually only lasts a day or two on me before its starts chipping. Between being a speech therapist  (working with kids) and house chores my nails have never stood a chance and I think I always knew that in the back of my mind.

But I have to say after trying these samples tonight I am ready to buy more! I love the way they came out. They are easy to apply and they look great! I am sure the more I practice with these nails the quicker it will get to apply. I'm sure there are some things that I didn't do 100% correct, so I'm excited to practice more with it. I will have to keep you all updated on how long they last on me.

So today we are just running around doing errands so I figured I would do a quick casual FOTD.

Eyes: NYX eye shadow base + Mac's paint pot in "Painterly", Mac's eyeshadow in "Yogurt" all over the lid with Mac's "Digit" in the crease,  Maybelline's dark circle eraser under the eyes with IT cosmetic's bye bye under eye corrector cream over top,Stila's liner in "alloy", Loreal's voluminous mascara in " Black Noir"+ Covergirl's lash blast volume mascara in "Very black" for the bottom lashes.

Face: Benefit's pore professional balm, Olay's total effects tone correcting touch of foundation with Shiseido's refining moisturizer (This was a sample size. I am in love with how it feels on the face, makes your face soooo soft and lasts all day long. I want to get the full size), Covergirl's Ready Set Gorgeous powder foundation in light/medium over top, Too faced bronzer in "Chocolate Soleil", Maybelline's dream bouncy blush in "rose petal" with Benefit's blush in "Georgia" over the top. I tried Mac's "Yogurt" as a highlight for the cheeks today. I have to say, I love the way it turned out.:)

This lip combination was my everyday lip look a few years back. I still go to it as a perfect natural lip. I still love it just as much as I did before. I have bought the lip gloss twice now (that's how much I like it). "Bavarian creme" is a "my lips but better" lipstick and the lip gloss in "Katie" is the perfect light pink ( I know, it's like it was meant to be lol) Here are some swatches so you can see:

I love this lipstick This is my second day wearing it and it is the perfect nude. It goes on nicely is soft and doesn't dry out my lips. This one is a keeper :)

I also promised in my first youtube video that i would post a picture of what they shimmer shadow looks like. I tried it today and hopefully this helps give you an idea. Just adds a nice sparkle to the lids, not too over powering

Lips: Rimmel's moisture renew lipstick in Pink Chic 

*I had purchased this lipstick a while back when it first came out in the original finish and I had loved the color but the formula was just too dry so I never really used it. I took a chance on purchasing this lipstick again with the new formula and I'm really glad I did. It is much softer and doesn't dry out the lips like the previous lipsticks. I am so excited that they decided to redo these lipsticks because they have some really pretty colors overall. This color in "pink chic" is just the perfect everyday pink shade.

Lips: Covergirl's lip liner in splendid, Bare Minerals lipstick in Bavarian Creme (one of my all time favorite lipsticks), and Urban Decay's lip gloss in "naked"

I have to say that this palette surprised me a bit. I was expecting the colors in this palette to come off a little deeper and easier than they did. I have never owned a Tarte palette before though... so I don't have much to compare it to. I absolutely love the packaging and I think it is perfect for when you are traveling for a quick  day time/neutral look. I don't want to say this palette is bad because it does have beautiful colors and I love the way this look came out today but some of the shadows do not come off as easy as I had hoped. Keep that in mind if you are looking to buy it (you just need time to work through the top layer of those shadows). I think next time I am going to try to build up the eye color a little more and go for a more smokey look. I was playing it a little too safe today i think ;)

I was so excited to swatch the Tarte blush in captivating that everyone has been raving about. I have to agree with all the hype, it is a beautiful peach color. It swatches on so smooth, I love it. I was not able to use this today but can't wait to use it in a future look!

drum roll please....... whitening lightning lipglosses! I have been waiting a while to try this out and I am so glad i finally did. I have always preferred lipstick over lip glosses but these bad boys are amazing on the lips. I think because my lips are so big and pigmented, lip glosses never show up the color they were meant to be on me. Both of these colors are beautiful, they are not too sticky and not too soft (they dont't roll around all over your lips), and they cover the lips nicely.
